The Feast of the Annunciation

Celebrated on 25th March. The Feast of the Annunciation marks the visit of the Angel Gabriel to Mary to announce that she is pregnant and will give birth to Jesus, traditionally it has been situated nine months before Christmas Day!

It's is the beginning of the Christmas cycle of prayers and normally falls within the time of Lent.

Traditionally the priest wears white or gold vestments on this day.
