Celebrated 40 days after Easter Sunday, Ascension Day is the celebration of Jesus' Ascension into heaven at the end of his earthly ministry.

It is celebrated as Jesus returns in glory to the right hand of God the Father, whom he had left at the incarnation to face death and sin by his crucifixion and ressurection.

Traditionally the Priest wears Gold or white Vestments on this day.

In 2007 the Feast falls on 17th May and, following tradition, the pupils from Blakesley School will be attending a service in St Mary's Church during the day.
